Testimonials – Rossmoor Playschool Graduates

Kaelin (Class of 2016):
“Hi my name is Kaelin I went to Rossmoor Playschool from 2-5 years old, I am 12 years old now! I think I learned so much while in preschool with Ms Vanessa and staff. The photo on the left is when I was 3 years old, the one on the right was taken around my 11th bday. I have been a model since age 3 and still continue to this day! You can see me on billabong, Asics , Nerf, and many more websites. I just graduated from Lee elementary school in June of 2021 and am off to Oak Middle school now. When I graduated from 5th grade I earned perfect attendance and academic honors for my whole 5th grade year! I was involved in peacemakers club and student body during my time at Lee. In my free time I play volleyball for Seal Beach volleyball club for the past 2 years and love it! We travel to many locations to compete against the best teams. Thank you Ms Vanessa and staff for all the fun and memorable years while in preschool! 😉 “

Heidi Ansorge (Class of 2003)
From Susan (mom):
“This is a top national honor received for high gpa over all not just in her major. This is a national award. The best you can receive anywhere. ( I think the boy from UCLA who received the award went to Rossmoor Playschool with Heidi) I had no idea what it meant until she was written up in the newspaper. So many people ask me what I think was the major contributing factors that helped Heidi succeed. My answer is…. Mrs. Welsh /Vanessa and Rossmoor Playschool. Heidi could read extremely well before she started Kindergarten. Day one of kindergarten/school she was at the top of her class. She stayed there too. I don’t know if you know that Heidi Ansorge is legally blind. I think as you do this you will be very surprised at how well all the graduates have done.”

Parker Kuskie (Class of 2021)
From The Kuskie’s family:
“Josh and I want to say thank you for everything you and the other teachers have done over the past three years. Rossmoor Playschool was the best school we could have found and could not be happier. Parker absolutely loves school and I know he will miss you all too. I know he is kindergarten ready all thanks to your program and all your efforts. I will never forget when I toured the school. Parker had just turned two years old and I told you he wasn’t talking. You looked at me and said “no problem, he will, I have seen it all.” Now, as you know, we can NOT get him to stop talking. We are so thankful for your patience with him and your continued support and efforts. We wish you and your family nothing but the best. You will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you again! “

Keira Lam (Class of 2010):
“My name is Keira Lam and I am currently a junior attending Long Beach Polytechnic’s nationwide known academic program called PACE. I’ve taken the foundational skills taught at Rossmoor Playschool to become an active member in my school serving as treasurer for my Junior Class Senate, Dance club, FIDM club as well as being an active member in my school’s campaign to help transition LBUSD schools to full renewable energy. Outside of school in my community I am apart of the teen advisory board at Alta Med where we offer free medical care to all, especially to communities left underrepresented. Along with Alta Med, I am an active member in Vietnamese Girl Scouting, practicing in activities to help further and assist the community and culture around me. All these contributions I am currently working on and have accomplished were made possible with not just the academic, but the social and emotional skills I developed at a young age at Rossmoor.”

Eliana Gillotti (Class of 2009)
Eliana attended Rossmoor Playschool from ages 3-5. Currently a Senior at Cypress High School, a 4-year Varsity Song member and Team Captain this year. She has been passionately dancing for 15 years at Impact Dance Studio, and was invited to attend ABT in New York for a ballet intensive. Her first job came along this past spring as a receptionist at Strong Studios where she is also the instructor for their new Pom class. Eliana is active with her church community and is President of a youth organization. Eliana loved attending Rossmoor Playschool ~ a great start to her schooling where they offer the perfect balance of play and learning. When she started Kindergarten she was already reading, and her early start has set the tone for her drive and determination in all that she does. Grateful for this local gem!!

Giovana Gillotti (Class of 2010)
Giovana attended Rossmoor Playschool for 3 years. She was excited to join her sister at this loving place! She met friends that were very precious and it was a perfect environment for fun play as well as learning! She is currently a Junior at Cypress High School, a 3-year member of the Song team and enjoying cheering at the varsity games this year. She has been actively dancing for 14 years at Impact Dance Studios and had the pleasure of being selected and attending Joffrey in Chicago for a 2-week intensive program when she was 10 years old. Giovana is active with her church and youth organizations. Her passionate drive for all things important from world events to the beauty and love of nature was something nurtured at a young age. We are so blessed she was able to get such a great start at Rossmoor Playschool!

Dominic Samawi (Class of 2021)
Picking the perfect preschool to nurture my child’s development as well as making him feel loved and safe was one of the most difficult decisions I have made. I started searching for schools before he turned 3. Enrolled him into a school only to find out Dominic hated everything about it. I then began my search again. Luckily to land on Rossmoor Playschool. We were met by Vanessa who gave us a tour of the school and explained her comprehensive reading curriculum, as well as her learn by play methods. I immediately knew this was the school for our family. My favorite part of the school is that each student learn at a different pace and Vanessa and the staff understood that. They focused 1 on 1 with each student to make sure they were learning at their own pace. Dominic loves to learn and Vanessa pushed him to learn and do more based on his acceptance. Dominic came into the school at 3 years old and graduated at the age of 5 reading books, counting by 5’s and 10’s and knowing how to add. My child has developed academically thanks to Rossmoor Playschool.
Dominic is currently enrolled at St. Hedwig. Dominic lays baseball, eukalael, and takes tennis lessons. His determination to learn new things and perfect it is what makes him unique. He loves to help and play with friends and family. He is caring and sensitive to people and their feeling.

Jagger d’Arnaud (Class of 2022)
We highly recommend Rossmoor Playschool to any and all families looking for an exceptional preschool program for their child(ren). Our oldest, Jagger, graduated from Rossmoor Playschool in June 2022 at the age of four. He is currently five and just began kindergarten. When we were looking for a preschool, we were in search of a program that was play based and had a low student to teacher ratio. With Rossmoor Playschool’s personalized learning experience, Jagger was not only reading, doing math, counting by 5’s and 10’s, etc. before entering elementary school, but he was able to learn all of the above while playing to learn, spending time outside and building friendships. We cannot thank Vanessa and the whole staff at Rossmoor Playschool enough for giving Jagger the best preschool experience. We have been awed by their ability to work with him and prepare him for kindergarten as well as provide him with such a positive first school experience. We are confident that Rossmoor Playschool has instilled a love for learning within Jagger that he will carry within him throughout his educational journey. We look forward to watching our newly enrolled three year old blossom in their nurturing care and under their guidance.

Matthew Teufel (Class of 2006)
This upcoming year, I am completing my bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. This past summer, I interned as a Software Engineer at Johnson and Johnson. A few weeks ago, I started another internship as a Software Developer at Amazon, and I am excited to officially begin my career in tech upon graduation. I am extremely thankful for everyone who has helped me throughout my educational and professional journey. I always felt that I was ahead of the game at school and work, and the foundation that enabled that ties all the way back to my beginnings at Rossmoor Playschool. I couldn’t have reached the position I am in today without a lot of help, and I know that every piece of my education served as a monumental step toward my future success.
