Play

A child’s work is PLAY, it is the most important activity of the day. It is through play that children learn many skills – both practical/social, and develop their imagination.  

Children learn to have fun playing independently with others during social breaks and also together in guided group activities.

For this reason, the school provides them with the wide variety of toys and activities. A major part of each session is devoted to free play. Structured activities are short durations, and conducted in small group to ensure individual attention. 

Academics 

Before graduating preschool, all children should
-learn to read
-know numbers from 1 to 100, 10s, and simple addition
-how to write their names correctly
-learn applicable life skills through enrichment practices 
-learn craft projects independently during their final year at age five (5) 
-develop good relationships with their peers, be able to participate comfortably in group play, perform in front of others confidently, and contribute to general conversations

Most of these goals are consistently met. Children learn at their own pace and development.  Most of Rossmoor Playschool Graduates have exceeded Kindergarten expectations.
